Boulder, Colorado
More professional outdoors athletes call Boulder home than any other city and with good reason. Boulder’s location at the foot of the Rocky Mountains offers nearly unlimited outdoor recreation while still being in the heart of civilization. The tone of the city is laid back but adventurous, with hundreds of adventures waiting within city limits and hundreds more in the nearby mountains, rivers, icefalls, and canyons.

Manitoba, Canada
With a landscape extending from the northern borders of South Dakota and Minnesota to the Arctic environs of Hudson Bay, Manitoba’s natural wonders come in many forms. The rolling geography is host to great lakes, amazing wildlife, beautiful praries, all highlighted by the arctic presnece of the northern lights.
Canada: Alberta
While they share a common name, the Canadian Rockies differ greatly from their American counterparts. Those who have visited both site a notable difference in the demeanor of these two ranges. Both are awash in alpine beauty, but the dramatic and remote reputation of the Canadian peaks led me to seek out a first hand audience with the fabled peaks of the great white north, among them Mount Robson and Mount Edith Cavell.
